Friday night we were running out of ideas where to go for dinner. I had a sudden craving for wings, probably because of the wings I tasted from Kapow on night of Yelp! Culture Clash event. So we decided to visit a local bar close to our house which we have never visited before and get some bar food. We walked in and it was exactly what we expected. Not a hole in the wall bar but it sure was nothing fancy. Actually I prefer going to places like this. I much prefer going to places where locals go rather than fancy places which they over charge you on everything. After we sat down and ordered our drinks, I got a feeling some of the patrons were out of town visitors who are staying at the hotels near by. We sat at the bar and ordered a round of beers. They got a pretty good craft beer selection for a local bar like this. I ordered the Magic Hat and my wife ordered the bar's own Wisconsin Amber. The beer was actually pretty good so I decided to order one too after I finished mine. We ordered a couple typical bar food, 10 wings and chicken nachos. The wings were medium spicy but it was a bit salty for me. The chicken nachos were nothing ordinary however, the chicken was a bit dry for my taste. Both dishes were okay at best but it is not a place for fine dining so it is what it is. One thing I did find weird. I guess there were no managers on duty at the time we were there. Because we were sitting at the end of the bar, and we heard a lot of conversation between the bartenders and the waitress near the servicing wells. Most of the waitress were complaining about the customers who were in their mind very demanding. Some were complaining how late they had to work, and some brought chips from the super market next door and proceeded snacking. If any managers were on duty, they should not allow them to do that in front of the customers. But the bartender who served us was friendly, and the beers were cool so we maybe back just for happy hours. And I am thinking ordering their beer tube!

The service was atrocious, and the first server was unprofessional. My burger came out wrong and my friend's wings tasted burnt. I mentioned to the first server that I was pregnant and wanted my burger done the right way. After messing up my order she switched the ticket to another sever w/o even telling me and sat at the bar gossiping before she left. The other sever was good but if I didn't ask her I would have never known my ticket was switch to her. She didn't really try too hard to make sure I was satisfied. I used to order takeout and delivery at least two or three times a week from here but will definitely no longer be giving them any of my service. All in all I was very disappointed.

My friends and I hit Slackers up last night to watch the FSU-UM game. We had heard that the place fills up with Seminoles, and people weren't exaggerating... When we showed up about half an hour before the game there was almost no room for any more customers. Luckily, some Seminoles pointed us to the last few empty seats and we were able to enjoy ourselves at Slackers for the next few hours. We ordered a pitcher and then a beer tube. Single beers are $5, but on Packers or Seminoles game days you can get a pitcher for $10 or a beer tube for $13 (there are pictures in the photo section). Definitely worth it! I snacked on a sampler platter during the game, with a smorgasbord of yummy bar food: chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, potato skins, and fried mushrooms (fried pickles are usually an option but they were out). My friends got the wings (delicious, of course) and the veggie sandwich. There's a good variety on the menu. Of course, the main attraction was the game, and this was the perfect spot to be for our win. The entire place was full of Seminoles, which made it a lot of fun to cheer our team on. They sing the fight song just like we did in Doak Campbell Stadium, which really makes it fun. I'm sure it's just as spirited for Packers games! Despite the crowds, our service was great and attentive, and the restrooms were clean. I plan to return for future games!! Plus, there's a check in offer right now that requires 3 check ins, so I've gotta work on that!

As an official FSU bar of Broward county, I obviously love this place! It is in a strip center with loads of parking. The restaurant is large and deep with tables, high-tops, and booths. It is decked out with FSU gear and memorabilia. The servers are very nice, and attentive, even in a rowdy, drunk crowd. On game nights, its seat yourself. They make large tables and you sit with people! Great drink specials! For the FSU games, other college games, NFL, and NBA games! Its just a laid back sports bar with some dedicated fans! I love every minute of this place. Bathroom is clean, restaurant is clean. Bar is fast, food is fast. The food is just mediocre bar food, but hey... See you all next season! Even though I will probably be there before that!

Love this place! I came here 3 years ago as a joke because it looked so sketchy from the outside. When we walked in we were blown away. Super clean and a tv at almost every table. Great place to come watch a game. We're marlins and panthers fans, sometimes it's hard to find a place that has the game on(especially during march madness) but this place has so many TVs it's easy to get your game on. Bells two hearted on draft and food is great. Sit at the bar if you can, service is hit or miss at a table.

I have been here many times, usually with friends for drinks and appetizers. Slackers is a low-key hangout mostly for locals. It's a clean, modest bar/grill that is great for little nights out for drinks etc. The atmosphere is very casual and the staff are typically great. The food is ok, but I must reveal the fact that they have my most favorite chicken nachos. Can we say yum!? They bake the sour cream with chicken on each nacho so it's like a delicious chicken/ sour cream/ salsa nacho puff. Ok I have to stop writing now cause it's making my stomach growl...

I visited this place last week after the long customs process made me miss my connecting to Atlanta. I was in the mood for great food and a stiff drink. I actually discovered this place through yelp! They have very friendly servers and bartenders and the food and drinks were great ! I ordered one cocktail that was topped with whipped cream. The table of ladies next to me came over to ask what it was called , and they all ordered it too. It was really good. They have lots of tv's , most of the tables has it's own small tv , which I thought was pretty cool. And yes, it's set to sports center :-). All in all very nice place

I learned about Slackers from a lady I met at the Packer victory in Miami (sorry Dolphin fans) a couple months ago. I've been a Florida resident for fifteen years and gave up looking for a Packer bar by 2001. I decided to celebrate my husbands birthday there with about 25 friends and relatives while our beloved Packers played the Patriots. I called a few days ahead to reserve seats for the game. The man I spoke to said they do not reserve seats but if we come in early the server would accommodate as many seats as we need for the game. They did. We had one server and she was great. We had to do separate checks due to different arrival and departure times and she mastered it flawlessly. She could've been stressed out but didn't show it. She worked her butt off with a continuous smile. She was great. I really miss that Wisconsin "all customer" involvement. During the game, strangers were hi-fiving each other, dancing on tables, singing and chanting to the DJ's eclectic selection of tunes during the commercials. I felt back at home in fun, friendly Milwaukee. At the end of the game, our awesome server brought birthday cake and had the DJ play happy birthday while the entire bar (500?) people joined in. It was a blast! We started out with fried Cheese Curds on a plate which were ok. My husband and I split the brat plate 2 for $9.99. It was served with fries. They were good. Friends had wings and said they were really good. Everyone was happy with their selections and the prices. Out of all 25 of us, we were all "Slackers virgins" and all said we would definately be back. It's a bit of a haul from Coral Springs (25 min.) but well worth the drive. We met a lot of new friends including Jon the owner and the hilarious guy Mick from Ireland who was visiting his girlfriends family (whom he ditched to come watch the game) and was recently transplanted to Chicago. When I asked him "How did you not become a Bear fan?" His response, "I choose to be a winner. ". Great fun and crowd participation with no drama. That's what it's all aboot. (Get it?) Cheers!

If you're looking for a Packers bar down here in Florida, this is a must stop! This place has a one of a kind atmosphere for Packer and Badger fans! Tons of memorabilia and stuff from Wisconsin! My family and I took a bus trip through them to the Packers vs Miami and it was a blast! Everything was top notch and done with the most fun in mind! The tailgate was great and they had plenty of food and beer for everyone! I would defiantly recommend going to a game with them as it was a blast!

I was visiting from Sacramento, California and the hotel front desk recommend this place. There are 25 big screens to watch any sport you could think of. Great atmosphere, &food. The best part was our waitress. She was patient & made great recommendations. I ordered the wings, lemon pepper & spicy honey BBQ aka Carlos Favorite with a house salad that was fresh and bigger than I expected. A must try.

Was excited to find a place right by the hotel that had craft beer on tap. The wife was more excited when she found out it was a Packers bar. Sadly, that excitement faded fast when we were given filthy plates for our appetizer. Our bartender was more interested in talking with her coworkers than serving us our drinks or food. We had to flag her down to place an order. She wasn't aware of what beers were on tap even though they boast about their craft beer selection. That in itself was a joke as they had 20 lines with at least 8 being taken up by macro brews. We stopped in for dinner and beers. We were handed a huge menu. That alone should be a bad sign. We decided on the tater skins to start. That's when we got the filthy plate. I pulled one square platter off of the other to reveal some kind of goober on top of the second plate. Not sure what it was but the wife instantly wanted to go elsewhere. All happiness was gone. Worse yet was the bartender's reaction. She looked at it like "Oh, a dirty plate. Again". She was not shocked nor did she apologize. She got two new plates and went back to talking with a waitress. My wife said the tater skins tasted like cardboard. They did not look appealing, likely taken out of a freezer and put into a microwave; they certainly were not freshly made. The beer I ordered tasted good but may have been off. It had a slightly sour taste. I wondered if the beer lines are cleaned on a regular basis. Maybe on game day this could be a better place but I'd rather go to Hooters and get some wings I know won't make me sick.

I was surprised to see all the Wisconsin and Green Bay Packers gear which made me feel at home since I'm a Wisconsinite. This a nice sports bar with a full range menu of bar food. Try the "Hell Mary" cocktail and the Wisconsin Brat burger...a real mouthful!

Went with friends to watch a Packer's game this past Sunday (Slacker's is the Packer's bar in town). They have a ton of tv to watch the game or games. We found one of the last few tables and sat down. Service was very friendly and quick during our stay. We had 2 helpings of the fried cheese curds, which was my first time trying these. They were really good, tasted like regular friend cheese. Good marinara dipping sauce as well. For my meal, I had the BBQ pulled chicken on Texas toast. The server said the sauce was a mix of sweet and spicy and she nailed it. The sandwich was huge and was served piping hot. Delicious. Warm chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream for dessert. Also very good. Overall, if you want to watch a game and eat some really good bar food, you could do a lot worse than Slacker's. Easy parking as well.

My friend and I stopped for a drink before returning to our nearby hotel. I ordered a brandy, but the bartender said they didn't have any brandy. I noticed a bottle of cognac on the shelf behind the bar and asked for that; he completely ignored me and said we don't have what you want here. Obviously, he did not want to serve us. I don't know why. Possibly because he didn't think we fit in; we didn't look like sports people, we were too old, maybe he perceived that we were gay, or for some other unknown reasons. Bottom line: I highly recommend that people do not frequent this place.

We sat at the bar and Rusty was our server. I had the French Dip and it was delicious! medium rare prime rib roast beef. Exactly how i like it. However a tad cold but taste made up for it. I wish they had this where I am from! Got potato skins. Ok but overdone.

Don't get to put too much. Walked in and sat down. Had three waitresses walk past a few times. Not one word was said to me for 10mins. So I left. Sadly its spot in the middle of the dying plaza seems deserved.

We were staying at the Hampton Inn across the street. We wanted something quick and easy, so we strolled over for dinner. It's a typical bar that serves food. They had an extensive menu, but don't expect to be wowed if you are looking for excellent food. But if you don't have a car because you are going on a cruise the next day, it will do.
(3)Sara E.
So a group of friends came to slackers for trivia. The waitress "accidentally" gave the wrong tower of beer. We didn't notice because we're not beer experts. The waitress came up to us to notify us we got the wrong beer, and made it seem like she'll give us another one for free. That's when the jackass manager came up to use and offered "oh we'll charge you for 2 towers of the Yeungling of beer instead of the more expensive one you got first". I tried to explain to him that the way the waitress offered us the second tower sounded like because it was her mistake, we were going to get it for free, otherwise we would have never ordered it. This is my second time here and the second time we've had an issue with a tower of beer with no resolution. Last week, we got a Miller Lite that tasted like water and then the tower was dumped all over my friend by the waitress and the only "sorry" he got was a free cup of beer. Don't come here!!!! They are a bunch of cheap people here! Never ever again- i don't care how good their food might be. Cheap asses. They make mistakes every where and blame their customers

We were staying at the Hampton Inn Hotel across the parking lot for one night before our cruise and needed a dinner option with 3 kids in tow. After reading multiple reviews of the area competition we went to Slacker's because everyone said it would be "ok". Located in a very shady strip mall Slacker's looks from the outside like it will be a horrible bar but once inside you realize it is actually decent. The service was very good and the place eventually filled up with other cruisers like us. The food was good and the Happy Hour specials were great. As long as you are not expecting a fancy meal you will be more than happy with your decision to come here.

For a Wednesday night, I found it to be pretty lively. The food was pretty good (Heather's choice Quesadillas w/Caesar Salad) yet the draft beer was so-so. I mentioned to one of the employees working the bar that the keg on one draft label may be getting empty due to a lack of hops, and he confirmed that I was correct. However, he didn't offer to replace the beer that I had with another. I had to almost beg one of the female bartenders (Kelsey) for attention in order to get another draft. I forgave her, mostly due to how hot Kelsey is (just being honest, she is a hottie). But anyway, the atmosphere is fine. No problems here. The female servers and bartenders are very fine, no doubt about it. I sat at the bar and counted at least 5 different servers within the area at the night preoccupied with stocking the bar for possibly the next day. I completely understand that. Yet in doing so, this kind of came at the expense of the customers that were at the bar. When I entered, I had to ask the customer next to me who the name of the bartender was in order to get her attention in placing an order. For a while, I felt like the invisible man, even when I held my hand up like a school boy to get someone's attention while also calling out. To their credit, it was slightly noisy. There were two NBA games going on at the time, and a couple of drunk lushes on both sides of me. One of which was some old man that was a regular there and who loved to make crass remarks on how the girls were dressed. For some reason, the female bartenders responded more to the stinky old man than to me that wanted to spend money! If the bar was named after work etiquette on some of the employees, than it has certainly earned its name with distinction-NOT. I was informed that the bar does in fact host UFC events yet not boxing. I was also told that they usually don't offer a cover charge for the UFC events, so we'll see about that. If I'm in town, I'll give this bar another shot. I don't like to be rude in getting attention yet maybe it has to be this way for once.

Went here with my husband To watch a football game, well walked in and seated our self as the sign said.... 20 minutes later we had not so much as been greeted, the waitress walked right past us at a minimum of 6 time ignoring us as if we were not even there, four other groups came in after us, all were waited on.... I have never felt so non welcomed in my life. I felt as if I had done something wrong or had the plague..... We finally got up and left, advising the manager how we were treated, and then only offered a drink AFTER we advised we would be giving a negative Yelp review. No thanks! Never again!
(1)Natalia A.
Nice place to watch sporting events. They got few big screen TVs, or just hangout with friends. They got few tables outside as well. Good selection of beer and very friendly staff. It would be 5Stars but they Have TV super loud sometimes to the point that the sound from one overlap the sound from the other.
(4)Sam W.
We went in for the Friday Fish fry, we had an out of town guest with us. The waitress was very nice and personable, when she was sent to our table to tell us there were no frosty mugs. Our guest asked what kind of fish, she had to tell us it was no longer the great dolphin it used to be but Tilapia. (in Florida--really?) We asked to substitute chips instead of fries, which we have done several times in the past. She told us, it would be an up charge, we could buy them as a side and share it. We weren't totally put out and decided to go for it anyway. She came back to the table to tell us it was too late in the fish fry, it was after nine. We all decided to just have burgers, with a $1 up charge for the chips. We felt sorry for the waitress as she remained very nice and attentive even after she was sent to our table with bad news several times. One would think that at some point the manager would have come to our table just to chat, but no. The burgers were good, but we left disappointed. Since this place is very close to home we have been going since it opened, I don't know if we will be going back.
(3)Kristin G.
Great neighborhood bar wjth great service. We always have a good time playing trivia and it's a great place for watching games.
(4)Jeff S.
This place has surprisingly excellent food, & a nice array of on tap beers. In addition to live sporting events on the big screen TVs have other activities such as karaoke and trivia nights. A very good local place to go and enjoy yourself.
(5)Sheila W.
Nice sports bar. Decent selection of craft beers and food was pretty good. Staff were fairly knowledgeable about the beer but they only had 1 IPA on tap and 5 "fruit" beers.
(3)Cynthia J.
I often go to this place with friends at weekends for drinks and appetizers. This place is great. The service was awesome, the beer selection was awesome, and the food was better!
(3)Jeremy B.
I had only been to this bar once before, and remember it being dark, dingy, and very smoky inside. They have improved the place a lot. Now they do not allow smoking inside. The place is much brighter. I think they replaced the floors too. They also have several craft beers on tap, which I don't think they had before. I sipped on an Abita Purple Haze (2 for 1 price: $6.25) while we watched FSU vs. Maryland (they host the Broward Seminole Club during FSU games). Not bad. Nice staff. I didn't eat but my friend got a burger and said it was pretty good. Check out Slackers if you haven't been in awhile.
(3)Meghan M.
Me and my boyfriend love going to play pool. This place is great since they stopped allowing smoking inside. The food is good but a little pricey. The wings are really good and the chicken ceasar wrap is really good!
(5)Ingrid A.
I ordered the pasta fetuccini and I wasn't impressed. It's greasy and the pasta wasn't cooked all the way
(2)Angela Y.
If you are staying across the street at one of the hotels, IE. Candlewood Suits and Holiday Inn, this is one of the only places you can access that is walking distance. Sports bar with a dive feel. They have tons of beers on tap and being in the middle of a strip in an industrial area of town with not so great hotels, they have a decent liquor selection. Great lunch specials and daily dinner specials. Wish I was in town for the all you can eat crab! Food came out fairly quick, about 10 minutes. I got a nice 1/2lb juicy burger. Besides the food and drinks, staff was mediocre. The barback was completely unable to multi task. I walked up to the bar and stood for a good 5 minutes until the bartender returned to give me a menu. During this time the barback was washing the dishes right in front of me as I grabbed a seat. Even though we made eye contact he refused to say hi or give me a menu. After he finished washing the dishes he still refused to give me a menu or greet me. He just stood behind the bar playing with his iphone, texting and changing music (he had headphones on the entire time.) A little over 5 minutes later the very unamusing bartender returns. She handed me a menu and got my drink order. The least she could do was smile..... Besides the unattentive and unfriendly barback and bartender, the little brunette waitress on the floor was quite friendly. She said hi when I first walked in. She said grab a seat wherever I would like. I made the mistake of sitting at the bar. She was more interactive with the customers on the floor than the bartender at the bar. The waitress on the floor even brought out water for my dog which was tied on the patio.
(3)Cheryl R.
Food was good, my son ordered wings and the Hubs and I had steak and cheeses. Upon arrival it seemed like it was a cool place, the manager (I think since he was wearing a polo & everyone else was in tanks or tees) was friendly and asked if there was anything in particular we wanted to see on the big screens, but that was the last bit of good service to be had in there. Our waitress was so slow and not interested in taking care of us. She didn't even check on us until after we were done with our meal. She almost seemed as though we were bothering her. If you try this place ask for a new server if yours is tall with butt length blonde hair.
(3)Kim B.
For a Packers Fan to watch a ball game - 5 STARS!!! Only game in town with volume if you cannot watch at home. Fun atmosphere, cheese curds and original WI bloody mary make game day at Slackers WAY better then living in the cold, snowy tundra!
(5)John H.
It was within walking distance of our hotel and appeased all eight of us. The severe heavy death metal music almost scared us away but we changed the music after ten min. Service was very friendly. Food mediocre to ok.
(3)Kimberly H.
not bad for bar restaurant food pretty decent normally with my experience barfood can suck. This place is pretty decent the food is really good considering its a bar. Service can be a bit better but I give this a good 3 star rating
(3)Debony M.
My mother and I were staying in the hotel across the street for a few hours until we had to go to the airport. We decided to stop in and boy were we surprised. My mother ordered the French Dip sandwich and I ordered the Blue Cheese Burger. The food came out and it was plated very well. The presentation was nice. Then we tasted the food. It was delicious. The buns were buttered and toasted just so and the meat was tender. The burger was cooked exactly as I had ordered it. From the outside this place looked like a total dive, but I'm not gonna lie, the food was absolutely delicious. Whoever is slaving back there in the kitchen deserves a raise.
(4)Tyler M.
Dear manager and owner, What sort of place are you running where you let your staff stand round and gossip while patrons are waiting to be served, trying to get the bar staffs attention but to no avail. I watched 3 different couples enter and seat themselves at a table waiting for service, 10 minutes passed and they left without the staff even noticing them in the first place and this all within the same hour. What happened to working for your tips? Boooooooo!!
(1)Jon P.
Love this place- great locals spot. Looks like a crap hole due to the location, but you'll be pleasantly surprised once you walk in. Great $5.99 lunch specials.
(4)Elvia Z.
We love this place! The food, drinks, and service are very good We usually go for the FSU games and bring the kids along. Don't get discouraged by the outside, the inside is very nice and clean.
(4)Chris C.
They are now nonsmoking with some outside tables at night to smoke at. They now have a brand new menu with a lot better selection and 20 beers on tap!! great service and great people. Lots of TVs so you will find the game you are looking for. 2-4-1 from 2-7 and 10-close! This place ROCKS!
(4)Karl G.
Showed up early for UFC night. Had a great seat in front. Ate an ok Steak Meal . A third of way through the fights, waitress taps me on shoulder and says I gotta move to back of the bar because they like to reserve the front section for any groups that might come to watch UFC. I took this to mean groups of more than one who will be buying beer all night, unlike me. The back equals two screens playing Football. So I spend the rest of the evening looking at the fights sideways from a distance cause of where I was placed. I do understand the financial reason for reserving the best seats for groups of more than one. But the fact is I came early, I spent my cash like everyone else. This is my first and last Slacker sports bar experience.

Based on the principles of marketing, I'd rather give this place no stars. Their website advertises at least two steel-tip dart boards. They don't exist. Drink specials are non-existent and the jalapenos in the jalapeno poppers were chopped. Yes, you read that right. Unless my idea of a GOOD jalapeno popper is skewed, I should have a darn-near entire jalapeno in my mouth whether I like it or not after taking that first bite from the popper. If I wanted breaded cheese product I'd order some mozzarella sticks. Frankly, those probably suck here too. Service was ok, but slow so I'll attribute that to the one star. Very little ventilation for such a big place, so it filled with smoke very rapidly and it wasn't even that crowded. Also, there was a blow-up skeleton with a blow up cat hiding in the corner under one of the TV's....they were positioned in a 69. If it weren't for yelp's rules, I'd offer some of my personal views using proper profanity. Since they offer a pilot's night here, I'll put it into terms that they can understand. Going here is like shooting an NDB approach. You can do it, but why would you want to when you have so many other BETTER options?
(1)Holly A.
Tried to get something to eat all tables were "reserved" good luck asked how long all we got was a shrug... Good customer service in a sarcastic voice... Go bears.
(1)Chris R.
This is the single worst place I've ever been, not because of the food or the atmosphere, but because of their lack of customer service. So we had a waitress who decided it would be funny to print "Fat B***h" on our meal ticket, where it says "table number". Yeah, needless to say, there were absolutely no repercussions for her behavior. She was even cheeky enough to automatically add on a tip without consent. Stay as far away from this bar as you possibly can.
(1)Jessie L.
The other night, we came here again wanting their chicken wings and were ignored for 20 minutes until they brought us menus and took our drink orders. Drinks came out, we were ready to order and were forgotten about -- again. I began to feel like they expected us to eat the menus. Minus one star to the slackers that Slackers employs, and plus one star to us for learning our lesson to steer clear of this dump. Instead, we brought our business over to Duffy's on 17th street where they had the pleasure of collecting our money.
(1)Dexter L.
Grilled wings were great as was the turkey burger. My wife was happy with her salad but the overall salad selection was poor. Drink selection was decent. Would go back and order the wings again. Smells like a bar. Not terrible but bar smell. Was clean. Smoky.
(3)Diane C.
good sports bar..close to hotels for visitors waiting for cruising..as we were..will return for next cruise
(3)Veronica F.
Best wings EVER!!!! Good vibe there.. Now that its non smoking I go there even more :)
(5)Phylicia K.
Last Sunday was my first time here. I found this location on packers.com and went to see the GB Packer game - heard it was a Green Bay bar. Excited to find fellow packers in the greater Miami area, I traveled out there. The place looks amazing, newly renovated and now non-smoking. The owner introduced himself after seeing my friend and I were Packer fans. Very friendly and welcoming. I thought I had found my bar and would have given them 5 stars until we starting ordering off the menu. While I understand the appitizers are smaller plates, we ordered a few hoping to munch throughout the game. But the portions were SO SMALL for such a HIGH price! Only 4 chicken fingers to start then still being hunger we ordered the chicken nachos thinking this would be a mountain of nachos and perfect for our halftime cravings. To our shock, only EIGHT, yes 8 nachos appeared on the plate. For $9 I thought I would get a decent amount. After ordering more chips and rationing our toppings we were obviously still hungry. I was really disappointed in the food selection for a sports bar especially during football season. Not sure I will become a regular or not based on food but this place seems to have so much potential!
(3)Donna L.
Lots of TV's- kinda cool the owner is from Wis so all Packer and Badger games are shown. The only downside- they still allow smoking indoors.

At first glance, Slacker's appears to be another South Florida sports bar, albeit a nicer one that is VERY serious about its TVs. Go for game day or fight night and that's exactly what you'll get, a vibrant, pleasant, slightly loud neighborhood bar experience populated largely by locals. To only experience Slacker's on those terms, however, is an opportunity largely wasted, because hot damn, these guys do not slack. Not content to simply let their bar exist and chug along, Slacker's owners and staff have risen to the task of programming events seven days a week. From trivia Wednesdays to karaoke Tuesdays to live music on Fridays, there's something going on every night of the week. Poker tourneys, pool league, drink specials for teachers, XBOX and Wii for the kids, individually controlled flat-screens at each table, Slacker's really does go out of its way to be all things to all people. When they first opened, I thought it was too much, that they'd burn out, that they should just pick a standard bar trope and stick with it. Over a year later and they've made me eat my words, not only surviving but thriving in a location that depends on strong relationships with the surrounding Marina Mile area. Speaking of eating, their kitchen started strong and strengthened from there, serving bar-food classics which rise above bar-food quality, along with several nods to the sea given that it's less than a mile from Port Everglades. Drinks are affordable, potent, and frequently on special, so don't forget to ask. Is Slacker's the perfect bar? Nope, but it's pretty damn good, and if ever there was a case of deserving an A for effort, this is it.

Cool place. Surprisingly large inside with pretty good food. The staff is friendly and they have a bunch of big screens playing sports. The bummer is that they have no cork dart boards, just electronic. And if the had "Power Putt" I would be there all the time!

They were out of mint for the Mojito. They offered to make a Mojito without the mint. I declined, though now I wish I had tried it to see what they did to fix it. We were staying at the Hampton Inn right next door in preparations for a cruise. The was within easy walking distance. Service was a little slow, but the food was good.

I live close by, so I go here occasionally for something to eat at night (after the happy hour crowd, before the night time drinking crowd), so as the "bar" comments go, I have none. As for the food, I have got to tell you, I've always liked my meal. I've had the burger, ribs, home made chips, wedge salad - basically a variety of different dishes, and the food, to me, has always been quite good. If this were just about food, I'd give them 4 stars The wait staff at the tables I have found to be quite unfriendly and more to the "20 year old, I think I'm so cool" mentality, so if you're into that fine. For us, it's like geez, you may be "all that" but if you could learn to be a better waitress too, that'd be great and we'd all be impressed with you. You will consistently have to hunt them down if you need anything once the food is dropped off. Instead of keeping an eye on their tables, you'll find them sitting down with some guys at a back table talking etc. Pretty bad; no, actually, the worst possible service ever; I would rate the wait service as 1; thus overall food/service combined, is why they got 3 stars. They have a pretty full menu so there's something there for almost everyone.

I came here for lunch as a friend was visiting from out of town for one night. We were suggested to come here by the holiday inn express across the street. At first, I thought to myself "oh my goodness, this looks crappy." It is in a really seedy shopping center and just not my cup of tea kind of place. But just as I thought everything would go wrong, I ended up getting a pretty good burger with decent french fries and barbecue sauce! just the way I like it. More refills on the gigantic, enormous soda? Sure. Thanks! No problem. The place is designed like a sports bar and I think that's what it really is even though I don't watch sports. They have a flat screen TV built onto the wall of each table. I thought that was pretty cool. The waitresses are all pretty down-home country girls, very nice and polite. Probably Republicans, unfortunately. All in all, a good value and a decent meal.

We use to go to B & B in Brickell to watch our beloved Seminoles. Since moving back to Broward we found out the booster club of Broward has their viewing party's here. From the moment we arrived I knew this place was going to be loads of fun. Garnet & Gold everywhere, signs, banners, flags you name it this bar had everything FSU. We met the president of the Seminoles Booster Club and wow she was an absolute sweetheart. She was so awesome at making everyone feel welcome and working the room. Or shall I sat the entire bar!! Yes so many FSU fans!!! Even the owner of Slackers was mingling in the room to make sure everyone was having a food time. I was utterly shocked that they had a completely full house and our server gave us exceptional service. Yes thanks to him I think I pounded down three pitchers of beer all by myself. The only food we tried was some chicken nachos which were good and our friends had some other food items that they really enjoyed. The booster club had a raffle which was fun. One if my tickets got picked and I went up with a 7 year old FSU fan so she could pick what she wanted. She picked a watch and was very excited. We met so many nice people here. The bar is clean, huge, awesome decor and so much fun!!! We look forward to viewing many games here.

About 20 of us gathered here for the Packers-Patriots game while celebrating my brother-in-law's birthday. Lots of fun. Plus, my team won. This place dedicates Packers games to cheeseheads, like myself, who enjoy brats, fried cheese curds, and cold beer. During commercial breaks, they'll play Polka songs, corny Packers songs (including music parodies), and adrenaline-pumping football songs. Folks with Packers shirts and jerseys are dancing on chairs/tables. Crazy. All of this outshines the food menu, which is mediocre. I had the things on the menu that Wisconsin folks would eat -- cheese curds and brats. Had several beers, too. They had a Wisconsin-based Amber that I stuck with all day long. Lost my voice cheering for me team. I'll certainly return for more Packers games. We had a great time.

Slackers Bar & Grill is a great little place you just don't want anyone to know about. It has a few pool tables and a couple of electronic dart boards games to entertain yourself with while the tables are busy. The flat screen tv's are a huge plus which they cover almost every sport event you can imagine. I really like their menu and best of all, the cold cold beers. Keep it up guys.

While visiting Fort Lauderdale with my husband last week, he wanted to catch the Heat vs. the Mavericks' fifth game, but because we weren't in New York, we had no idea where to go. As tourists, we did ask around, but nothing seemed to catch our attention. We wanted to somewhat feel like we were home, so I depended on the help of Yelp, and it brought us to Slackers Bar & Grill. It was located amongst many other little shops, kind of like a mini-mall, and was somewhat hard to find. Once we stepped in, I knew that we had made the right choice. Very large bar area, many tables all around, mini flat-screens screwed onto the walls, about 4-5 large projectors hung from the ceilings, perfect for all the big games. Service was great. Kylie was friendly and made sure that we were happy throughout the night. Their mozzarella sticks were awesome! Although she made a mistake on both of our orders, my hubby wanted swiss cheese with his turkey burger, when it arrived no cheese. I ordered a turkey and cheese sub, when it arrived, it was ham. She was sweet enough to void my order. The only problem I had was that there was way too much smoking. We stayed for the whole entire game, which was close to 3 hours. When we left, it was more like we were smokers ourselves. Our hair, our clothes, all the smoke was stuck to us, pretty disgusting I gotta tell you. I am a New Yorker so I'm used to the no-smoking in bars. Another thing, the fries were way toooooo salty. I couldn't even eat them, ugh. This place is great for get-togethers, great for games, and great for drinks. We enjoyed it despite of all the smoking.

If Samuel L. Jackson were to intimidate some young college kids who just stole his bosses briefcase he may take a bite out of one of these kids burgers and say "That's a tasty burger."

Came for lunch. Jerk chicken wrap was pretty good. Bartender was miserable, couldn't get the order right, and expressed how she just really wanted to get out of there. More of a drinking place than somewhere to grab a bite, unless you like cigarette smoke with your meal.

All I order are burgers and they are excellent. Place is clean. Customers and staff are friendly. I only go at lunchtime. Never had a bad meal. It's a sports bar with many tvs.
